Semiconductor Industry Association has been working up some numbers lately and it has posted some of its results regarding employment. The results were not shocking but pleasing, especially for the people of Texas and California. Semiconductor Industry Association stated that California and Texas have great potential of growing remarkably in the semiconductor industry. They reached this conclusion on the basis of employment opportunities. California is the place which employs the most people in the semiconductor industry and Texas is not far behind in the line since it stands at the second place currently.

The figures released by Semiconductor Industry Association state that California employs around 50,000 people whereas Texas employs around 30,000 people in the semiconductor industry. The employment figures clearly state the amount of potential these places have in terms of growing the industry and reaching the desired profitability levels by employing the right amount of people.

There are many companies that are involved in the semiconductor industry and they have been performing really well and have been adding to the economic growth as well. Some of these companies are Advanced Micro Devices, Texas Instruments and Freescale Semiconductor. These companies alone have been employing thousands of employees at the moment.

It is now generally accepted and claimed that US semiconductor industry is improving and growing at a gradual rate and is ready to mature soon in order to reach an optimal level to compete with the big industries. The semiconductor industry is growing and has broadened as well.

If we consider US as a whole in terms of semiconductor industry, a growth of around 4% has been observed. Such statistics are not made up randomly and are taken from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. When the growth of semiconductor industry and the employment are compared, it can be noticed that employment increases as the semiconductor industry experiences growth. When semiconductor industry observed a growth of 4%, the employment of US also rose by around 2% which is remarkable.

It can be seen that there is a lot of potential in the semiconductor industry and the benefits can be reaped from this sector if the right amount of investment is done and the right amount of people are employed. The statistics showed that the semiconductor industry in US has been employing around 0.2 million to 0.3 million people. Such statistics look very promising and if the semiconductor industry keeps growing at a stable rate, then soon it will be able to reach a target of employing 0.5 million to 1 million people.
